Kendra S. Miles , 77 of Ashville, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at The Inn at Winchester Trail in Canal Winchester.  She was born on October 6, 1947, in Gallia County, to the late Kenneth Ewing and Sarah Elizabeth (James) Swanson.  Kendra was a 1965 graduate of Jackson High School, and the University of Rio Grande and was an elementary and middle school teacher for Teays Valley schools for 30 years.  She previously attended Hedges Chapel Church and was a volunteer for the Board of Elections, Harrison Township.

She is survived by her husband Frank; sons, Joe (Zoe) Thompson and Ryan (Melanie) Thompson; stepchildren Michele (Mike) Cardwell, Vicki (Trent) Scott and Mike (Nicole) Miles; grandchildren Cal & Ty Thompson, Sam & Jack Thompson, Tyler (Cheyenne), Aaron, Dominic, Hallee, Arianna, Ella and Holden; and cousin Pat Zinn.

Kendra’s family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Capital City Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.  Condolences may be made at www.olivercheekfuneralhome.com.
