Listen to Obituary

Kenneth R. Conley Sr, 91, of Amanda, OH passed away on February 2, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 26, 1934 in Kenova, WV to the late Henry J. and Nellie M. (Haysup) Conley.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his sister Lucy, and brothers Robert, Danny and Curtiss.

He is survived by Edith Conley who was his constant companion and devoted wife of seventy years. Although he enjoyed many successes throughout his life, Kenneth was most proud of the family he and Edith raised together. His two daughters, Kathy and Kristine and his son, Kenneth, Jr. loved him deeply and will carry on his legacy of hard work and love of family. Kenneth also leaves behind eight grandchildren and fifteen great- grandchildren.

Kenneth’s favorite past time was being with his family. He looked forward to visits from his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. When he saw them, his tough exterior faded and his eyes filled with joy.

As a young man, Kenneth, was one of the founders of D&D Refuse, working hard to build the company from the ground up. After selling D&D Refuge, he started Conley & Son Custom Auto and Conley’s Carryout, where he worked until retiring in 1994.

Kenneth could fix and repair anything! He also loved passing on his knowledge of fixing things to his son, daughters, son in law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He loved spending time tinkering with his many “toys” in the garage. If the sun was shining, he could be seen wearing his straw hat, riding his beloved John Deer on his property. Watching NASCAR was another favorite hobby of Kenneth’s.

Although the past four months brought many physical challenges for Kenneth, he was a fighter and fought very hard to recover in hopes of returning home to his family. He was known to do whatever he needed to do to take care of his family.

Kenneth was an amazing man and will be truly missed by those who love him. Abiding by his wishes, cremation has been observed in the care of Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home.

The family will gather privately to remember his long, fruitful life, and share their favorite memories of their husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Arrangements and care of the family has been entrusted to Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, OH, 43103. Online condolences at olivercheekfuneralhome.com.
