Larry P. Beard, 79 of Circleville, OH passed away Monday, December 23, 2024 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus, OH. He was born on January 12, 1945 in Athens, OH to the late Charles and Carrie Eloise (Miller) Beard. Larry had retired from DuPont in Circleville after 36 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a graduate of Williamsport H.S. Class of 1964. He loved basketball and had played in high school as well as in the Army in Germany before Vietnam and many years later on independent teams. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and more recently loved to carve walking sticks. He was a member of Williamsport American Legion.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Betsy Beard Nicholson; siblings Lois (Jack) Sarina, Charles (Janet) Beard, James Beard, Linda (Chuck) Fontain, Philip Beard, and Thomas Beard.
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy R. (Huston); son John (Tina) Beard; grandchildren Casey (Ashtan) Nicholson, Abbie (Nick) Flood, Jonathan (Kristeen) Beard, Mackenzie (Garett) Kirkpatrick, Zach and Nick Mason; great grandchildren Paisley and Briggs Nicholson, and Ayla Kirkpatrick; Sisters-in-law Connie Beard, Kathleen Beard Lloyd, Ginger Beard, Janice Beard, and Lesli Parker.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 3rd from 4-8 p.m. at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with a Funeral Service Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with Shane Roese officiating. Burial will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery, So. Bloomfield.
