Listen to Obituary

Linda May Mithoff, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on July 23, 2026, after a full life devoted to faith, family, and friendship.

Linda was born on May 19, 1940, to Ralph and Ruth (Carpenter) Mithoff in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from South High School in 1957. She worked at Alcoa Aluminum Sales Office for 9 years, then part-time at Connell’s Flowers while raising her children, and retired from State Teachers Retirement System after 25 years of service. Linda was a member of Village Chapel and enjoyed many years being in the Ashville Women’s Civic Club.

Linda was a gifted and creative woman whose many talents blessed everyone around her. She enjoyed creating ceramics, decorating cakes, baking, floral design, basket weaving, sewing, knitting, and painting. Linda had many talents, but what gave her the greatest joy throughout her life was sharing them with others. She looked forward each year to the Circleville Pumpkin Show, where she cherished being reunited with family and delighted in dressing up for the parades with the Wyngate float as a witch, Raggedy Anne, a slice of pumpkin pie, and the Great Pumpkin. Above all, Linda cherished her family and friends. She made countless memories boating and camping with her children and later treasured taking her grandchildren on special trips, creating memories they will always hold dear. Linda found great joy traveling near and afar with family and several close friends over the years. Her warmth and devotion to those she loved will remain in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cordray. She is survived by her loving children, Jeff (Dora) Fann and Jenni Payne; her cherished grandchildren, Brad (Megan) Payne, Samantha (Cecil) Higginbotham, Sara (Michael) Young, Alli (Greg) Brewer and James Fann; her beloved great-grandchildren, Savannah, Kaiden, Hunter, Branson, Averi, and Emeri; dear cousin, Karen Moore; and fantastic long-time friends, Marlene, Beth, Jaye, and Janelle. She is also survived by many more special cousins and friends who will remember her with love.

Her family extends its heartfelt gratitude to The Wyngate at Circleville Senior Living Community, National Church Residences Hospice, and the many special caregivers and staff members who provided Linda with exceptional, compassionate, and loving care. Their kindness brought comfort to Linda and her family and will always be remembered.
