Linda M Welsh

Linda M. Welsh, age 75, of Ashville, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at The Wyngate at Circleville. She was born on June 25, 1950, in Circleville to the late Carl and Bernice (Hinton) Cathel. Linda was a 1968 graduate of Westfall High School and retired after 28 years of being a Sergeant over the Dispatch Center for the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing bingo and going bowling.

Linda leaves behind a son, Stacey (Stephanie) Eitel and daughter, Angie (Todd) Ruff; stepchildren, Steve (Jill) Welsh, Paul Russell (Colene) Welsh, Paula Welsh, Treva Welsh (Dale Costlow) and Kevin (Robin) Welsh; sister, Sharon Pontious; cousin, Mary Gillispie; grandchildren, Jared, Sarah, Wesley, Taylor, Jason, Heather, S. Tyler, Lucas, Jared, Brandon, Michelle, Ty, Kasi, Joe, Stefani, Nikki and Travis; as well as 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Paul E. Welsh Jr; brothers, Roger, Carl, Marion, Merle, Jerry and Paul Cathel.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 24, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and a funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main Street, Ashville, Ohio, 43103 with Reverend Ty Myers offering words of comfort. Interment will follow at Muhlenberg Township Cemetery, Darbyville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Central Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to a charity of your choice.
