Lloyd Phillip Davidson, 82, of South Bloomfield, OH, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, just four days before his 83rd birthday. Born September 14, 1942, in South Point, OH, Lloyd was the son of the late Archibald and Exie (Baker) Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Luther Davidson, Leslie (Sid) Davidson, Lucille Rodriguez, Frances Davidson, and Merle (Paul) Roberts; and by his beloved son, Adam Thomas Davidson.
Lloyd shared nearly six decades of marriage with the love of his life, Madelyn Carole (Forquer) Davidson, whom he affectionately called “Forq.” Together, they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering love. They would have celebrated 59 years of marriage just one week after his passing.
A proud veteran and member of his Local VFW Post 7941, Lloyd served honorably in the Ohio Army National Guard, retiring after a long and dedicated military career. Following his retirement, he embraced a new role that brought joy to countless families—growing his signature beard and “becoming” Santa Claus. Lloyd was a beloved figure in South Bloomfield and the surrounding communities during the holiday season, where his warmth, kindness, and twinkle in his eye embodied the true spirit of Christmas.
Lloyd is also survived by his four children Michelle (Steve) Detrick, Phillip (Ami) Davidson, Shawn (Lisa) Davidson, and Patrick Davidson as well as special nephews Bruce and Doug Roberts. Of all his roles in life, Lloyd most treasured being “Papa.” He was adored by his nine grandchildren, Cassady, Maddie-Lynn (Eriq), Stephany, Zachary, Luke, Blake, Jenna, Katie and Carlee and was overjoyed to learn that his first great-grandchild was on the way. His love for his family was boundless, and his presence brought laughter, comfort, and joy to every gathering.
Lloyd will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and the love he poured into his family and community. His legacy lives on in his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who were blessed to know him.
