Marie S (Smith) Akers
January 3, 1931 — March 8, 2016
Marie Akers, 85 of Circleville, OH went to the waiting arms of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years Billy Akers, parents Daniel and Eulah Smith, brother Jimmie Smith and sister Edna Bryan. Marie is survived by sisters Mary Williams of Circleville, OH and Deloris (Dee) Thompson and husband Billy Thompson of Grove City, OH, sister-in-law Polly Akers Fischer of Marion, OH and many nieces and nephews. Marie was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Ashville, OH. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
The family wishes to thank our dear friends at Heartland Hospice who lovingly cared for her in her final days.
Family and friends may join us Friday from 5-8 pm at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH. Funeral will be held at First Baptist Church, 2367 Pickaway St, St Rt. 316 E Saturday, March 12th at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Sutherland officiating. Internment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield.
