Marjorie L. Foreman, 89, of Ashville, Ohio, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her residence.
She was born on October 14, 1936, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Richard and Elizabeth (McQuiniff) Smith. A 1954 graduate of South High School, Marjorie later became the owner of Smith-Dodson Lumber Company in Columbus, a business founded by her father in her childhood home and still operating today. She was a longtime member of the Ohio Lumbermen’s Association.
Marjorie was a faithful member of Village Chapel Church, where she passionately served in the church library and Celebrating Seniors ministry. She devoted much of her life to scouting, serving as a Girl Scout leader and mentor who positively impacted countless young lives. She was also a dedicated member and leader of the Ashville Civic Club, as well as several other clubs and organizations.
Marjorie loved gardening, traveling, hosting family gatherings, celebrating holidays, and embracing new adventures. Her warmth, generosity, and enthusiasm for life made a lasting impression on all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Kraft, and her first husband, Richard L. Foreman.
She is survived by her children, Becky (Nan) Foreman, Ronald (Darlene) Foreman, Kathy (Dave) Efaw, Rick (Robin) Foreman, Suzy (Doug) Gilliland, and Robert (Tammy) Foreman; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Pat (Terry) Caldwell and family; and many others whom she welcomed and loved as family.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at Village Chapel Church, 30 Viking Way, Ashville, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, at Village Chapel Church. All guests are invited to join the family for a meal after the service.
Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens/Cemetery in Columbus.
Guests are encouraged to wear floral prints and bright colors when visiting and attending the celebration of life service, in honor of Marjorie’s life and love of flowers.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions may be made to Village Chapel Church in support of the Celebrating Seniors Ministry.
