Martha L. (Heffner) Wharton

Martha  L.  Wharton 86 of Ashville, passed away Sat. April 4, 2015 at her residence.  She was born on Aug. 18, 1928 in Walnut Township, Pickaway County to the late Ray and Margie (Warner) Heffner.  Martha was a graduate of Walnut High School, a member of Hedges Chapel Church, the Ashville Heritage Society, and past member of The Ashville Women’s Civic Club.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Wharton in 1994 and a son, Bruce A. Wharton in 2005, and sister Helen Smith.

Survived by son Randy (Stefanie) Wharton of Ashville; daughter Rhonda (John) Purcell of Columbus; grandchildren, Nate (Tiffany) Purcell, Joy (Zach) Flemming, Caylin (Jason) Shepard, and Kendall (Steve) Miller; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor Barr of Ashville and Harriet Hedges of Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews; special  caregivers, Verna and Lacey.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wed. April 8, 2015 in Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Weds. at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville then process to the cemetery for the graveside.
