Marvin Lee Carrel Jr was a force of nature. Strong and steady in his beliefs, he lived his life unapologetically. Charisma is the best word to use to describe him. He just had a way about him that was magnetic.
No matter the role he played in your life, he did it with intention. If he loved you , you knew, if he didn’t , everyone knew it, and he loved hard. His smile was contagious, and his work ethic unmatched. Tough as they come, yet gentle and kind. A diehard Cowboys fan, he has made quite a few trips to Dallas to see them play. He also loved his Buckeyes. A graduate of Teays Valley High School , Class of 88. He was quarterback for the Vikings. Unwavering in his love for his country, he then joined the Marine Corps. He has worn a lot of hats. His favorite being fatherhood. He loved being a dad. He has always said his one true love was his son M3. He loved his family and had recently adopted some new family members. A special thank you to Gwen Gothard and the Gothard Family for making him a part of their lives. Marvin left an undeniable mark on this world. His presence was felt here and will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin Lee Carrel Sr, Patricia Ann Rice and his best friend/brother Greg Battle.
Marvin is survived by his son Marvin Lee Carrel III (M3); His sisters Tammy Ann Knisley (Stephen) and Sami Rice (Ricky); His brother Butch Carrel (Mindy); His stepbrother Shawn Rice; His nephews Rodney Knisley (Jayla) , Michael Knisley (Lindsey), Aiden Rice, Diego Rice, Junior Carrel, and Milton Carrel; His nieces Trinity Scott (Nate), Isabel Rice and Calla Rice; His cousin Lisa Rodgers, and his “roomies” Jayci Robinholt and Shelby Battle; as well as,5 great nieces, 10 great nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
