Matt Hackney

Matt Hackney, 51 of Ashville, OH went to be with the Lord on  Wednesday, August 21, 2024.  He was born on May 18, 1973 in Columbus, OH, to Rita Mae Hackney.  He was a 1991 graduate of Marantha Christian High School and was General Manager of Capitol City Trailers in Columbus.

Matt is preceded in death by his mother Rita Mae Hackney and father-in-law William Douglas Young.

Matt is survived by his loving wife Susan R. (Fitchpatrick) Hackney; adored children Nick (Rachael) Hackney, Kaitlin (Ken) Howell, Michael Hackney, Jacob (Kelsi) Pope, Kolten Johnson; Pappy’s loving grandchildren Cora and Lily Howell, Paislee and Colt Pope; Friend and father-in-law Buddy Fitchpatrick; caring aunts Connie and Jenny; cousin Penny.

Matt loved his Lord and had many, many friends.  He admired antique and classic cars, loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and especially his best friend and wife Susan.  Matt’s saying to everyone was “Don’t Miss Heaven”, Matt, You Made It

Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, August 25th with Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 26th at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with Pastor Ty Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville.  In lieu of flowers, donations may go to a charity of choice.
