Maynard Max Marion, 90, of Ashville, OH passed away on July 31, 2025, at Pickaway Manor in Circleville. Max was born on February 10, 1935, to late Maynard M. and Christine M. (Swoyer) Marion in Ashville, OH. Max was a 1953 graduate of Ashville Harrison School and worked at GE in Circleville, OH for over 30 years. In addition to being a private pilot with a commercial rating, he is a member of several organizations such as the EAA – Experimental Aircraft Association, WAR BIRDS of America, Roundtown Cruisers and Knights of Pythias. Max collected airplanes, his favorite was his American World War II-era BT-13.
Max is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Shirley I. (Caplinger) Marion; daughter Michelle (Dave) Landenburg; son Jeffrey Marion; step-children Lisa Rathburn and Teresa Fisk; grandchildren Christine and Nicholas; great-granddaughter Elle; step-grandchildren Lee Fisk and Brandon Timmons; step-great-grandchildren Sydnie and Gavin; sister-in-law Linda Burns.
A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville, OH. A funeral service will follow at 2:00p.m. with Pastor Ty Myers offering words of comfort. Concluding service and internment will take place at Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield, OH.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
