Michael Allen Roese

Michael Allen Roese, 83 of Ashville, OH passed away at home on December 10, 2023. Mike was born on February 7, 1940 to the late Charles Freeman and Leona Louise (Collard) Roese in Columbus, OH.  Mike was a 1958 graduate of Scioto High School and served in the U.S. Army as well as the Army Reserves from 1959-1966. He worked as a Construction Manager for 30 years for Ohio Bell/Ameritech. He was a serious and avid trapshooter, having shot over 85,000 doubles and over 100,000 singles events. He was a life member of Ohio State Trapshooting Assoc. and American Trap Shooting Assoc. He was a member of Madison County Fishing and Game Club and was a lifetime member of Masons of Scottish Rite. He also had served on the Scioto Twp. Zoning Board for 30 years.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his wife Irene Elaine (Leach) Roese on June 9, 2023.

Mike is survived by his daughter Misty Roese (Scott Huntsman); sister Kathy (Terry) Martino; nephew Troy (Rebecca) Fridley and niece Tara (Bob) Hausfeld; special friends Steve and Kenny Corwin; Melody Green; Kaye Hott; stepchildren Anna McMillan, David Carr, Betty (Steve) Phillips, Barbara Trowbridge, James (Cara) Isaacs II and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Monday Dec. 18, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 2 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103 with Tom Murphy officiating.  Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield.
