Noell F. Rader , 89, of Gahanna passed away at home on Saturday, August 31, 2024. He was born on February 9, 1935, in Pickaway County to the late Glenn and Mary Elizabeth (Baker) Rader. A graduate of Ashville-Harrison H.S. Class of 1953 and served in the Navy Reserves for 8 years during the 50s and 60s. He played the saxophone in a rhythm swing band back in the day. Noell retired from Dupont-Circleville after 27 years and farmed the family farm, later he retired from the City of Columbus as a Code Enforcement Officer after 20+ years of service.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Rebecca Sue (Neff) in 2009; son Stuart Rader in 2020; brothers Dudley and Ned Rader; sister Anne Hennis; and granddaughter-in-law Paige Arledge in 2020.
Survived by his wife Judy S. (Wickham) Rader; daughters Elizabeth (Craig) Arledge and Laura (Blaine) Timm; grandchildren Luke Arledge, Graham (Matt) Arledge, Bryce Timm; great grandchildren Tanner, Elaina, and Landon Arledge; twin brother Lowell (Rita) Rader; sisters-in-law Nellie Rader and Carol Neff; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Jackson Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
