Patsy Ann Hastings, 88 of Ashville, OH passed away on September 8, 2025 at the end of Dolly Parton’s song, I Will Always Love You that was playing on the TV. Those that were with her knew her husband, Jim, had a part in bringing her home to her final resting place because of this song. Patsy was born on February 8, 1937 to the late Lester and Emma (Hudson) Fausnaugh in Columbus, OH. She was a 1955 graduate of Scioto High School in Commercial Point, Ohio and Columbus Business University. Patsy retired in 1997 after working 39 years as a Rural Postal Carrier for the Orient, Ohio Post Office. Patsy farmed alongside her husband Jim, whom she married on February 11, 1956. She was a member of Scioto Chapel Church, Rural Mail Carrier Association and Scioto Grange. Patsy loved to travel, especially to her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. She was one of their biggest fans and the game official’s biggest critic. Patsy was a loyal Ohio State Buckeye fan especially the football and basketball teams. She even cheered on the Cincinnati Reds during their darkest days. Patsy and Jim enjoyed staying at their winter home in Plant City, Florida for over 25 years where they made a lot of good friends and memories.

Besides her parents, Patsy is also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, James (Jim) Hastings, son Brett Hastings and grandson Zane Hastings Grabans.

Patsy is survived by children Rom (Jodi) Hastings, Holly (Rob) Powell and Matt (Wendy) Hastings; grandchildren Chelsey (Drew) Gable, Derek (Vickie) Hastings, Cody (Karissa) Hastings, Leslie (Ben) McMurray, Jacob Hastings, Mallory (Austin) Heiing, and Raelynn Hastings, along with 7 great grandchildren all of who she loved very much.

Visitation with Family will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025 with Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 officiated by Pastor Brian Dunham at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103. Interment will follow at Beckett Cemetery, Commercial Point, OH. Donations may be made in Patsy’s memory to the American Heart Association, 5455 N.
