Remo Joseph Nardi

Major Remo Joseph Nardi 81 of Ashville, OH passed away on Sat. Jan. 9th, 2016 at Mt. Carmel West Medical Center, Columbus surrounded by his loving family.     He was born on Oct. 18th, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Dino S. and Amelia J. (Niccolai)  Nardi.  Remo was a member of Vine Life Assembly of God in Groveport; Past Grand Knight of Father Hannan Council #5297 Knights of Columbus; Past Faithful Navigator of St. John F. Newmann Assembly #1761, 4th degree Knights of Columbus; Past District Deputy, Southern Ohio District; Knights of Columbus; Chaplain of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7941, South Bloomfield, OH; Past member of the Ashville Kiawanis; Ashville Knights of Pythias Palmetto Lodge #513, and Amvets Post #2256, Circleville, OH.  He was a Viet Nam Veteran serving 23 years in the United States Air Force retiring from Rickenbacker Air Force Base as Chief of the 301st Air Refueling Wing Navigation Section.  He served as Manager of Nicholas Square Apartments, Circleville, OH for 14 years and a Meals on Wheels Driver for  the Pickaway County Senior Center, Circleville, OH.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn (Palmer) Nardi.  Survivors include his wife Anita J. (Hoffner) Nardi of 40 years; sister Erina Guarino of Pittsburgh, PA; children,  Danny Nardi of Columbus, OH, Remo James  (Michele) Nardi of Riverview, FL., David (Michelle) Nardi of Gahanna, OH., Carla Renee (Terry) Meinberg of Hilliard,OH, Shirley (Pete) Belanger of Foley, AL; 9  grandchildren, Kelley (Rob), Erin (Dean), Jennifer, Jeremy (Sara), Annie (Mujo), Joey, Ashley (Weston), Aubrey (Jake), and Wesley (USMC); numerous great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special cousins, Nilo (Phylis) Niccolai and Marino (Fran) Niccolai.  Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. on Thurs. Jan. 14th, 2016 at Vine Life Assembly of God, 434 Main St. Groveport, OH with Pastor Todd Troyer officiating.  Entombment will follow in  Lithopolis Cemetery.  Friends may call on Wed. from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W.
