Richard P. Mcdowell

Richard P. McDowell, 86 of Ashville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Canal Winchester Care Center in Canal Winchester, OH. He was born on March 5, 1937, to the late Harold and Helen (McDowell) Kegg in Columbus, OH. Richard was a 1955 graduate of Hilliard High School and worked as a land developer and researcher for many years. He also enjoyed doing research on various topics and writing.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife Lydia A. (Meek) McDowell in 2012 and his brother David McDowell.

Surviving are his son Marc (Elizabeth) McDowell of Tampa, Florida, and daughter Capi (Mitch) Scott of Ashville: grandchildren Paul Scott, Beau (Kelly) Scott, Tim (Marilee) Scott of Ashville, Sarah (Brigham) Michaud of Indianapolis, Indiana and Laura (Justin) Santora of Cranberry, PA. and also 13 great- grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Ohio Health Hospice. The family will be honoring their father at a private graveside service.
