Richard G. Meade

Richard G. Meade 80 of Ashville and Commercial Point area passed away Aug. 15, 2024 at his residence.  He was born on April 7, 1944 in Pikeville, KY to the late Albert and Nellie (Compton) Meade.  Richard retired from Dana Corporation after 30 years of service as a welder.  He enjoyed rabbit hunting with his beagles and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brother Charles, sister Mary King, brothers-in-law , James King, Kelly Adkins and Jimmy Stacy.

Survived by his wife of 60 years, Edna (Little) Meade; children Delena Meade, Angie (Shannon) Hughes, and Jeff (Cyndi) Meade; grandchildren Cory Hughes (Rachel), Tyler Hughes, Cody (Molly) Meade, Chase (Angelique) Hughes, Jessi (Blake) Norman, and Samantha Meade; great grandchildren Cooper, Mila, River, Holden, Chase, Ryder, Molly, and Maggie; sisters Mildred Adkins and Betty Stacy; brother Bobby (Diane) Meade; sister-in-law Shelby Meade; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Aug 21, 2024 at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH from 12 noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Beckett Cemetery, Commercial Point.
