Robert L. Baum

Robert L. Baum , 96, of Ashville, passed away on October 23, 2024.  He was born on September 8, 1928, in Duvall, Ohio to the late Jesse and Essie (Somers) Baum.  He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Cade) Baum in 2020, his brother Frank, and sisters Rebecca, Betty, Kathryn and Jessie.  Bob graduated from Ashville Harrison school and attended OU Athens for two years.  He was a dedicated member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, owner of Baum Insurance Agency and farmed for many years and was on the Board of Directors at the Savings Bank.  Bob served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.

Bob is survived by his children, Patricia (Baum) and Carl Rogers, Steve Baum, Jill (Baum) Martinez and Cynthia Baum; his granddaughter, Silvia Martinez; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on November 2, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6046 St. Paul Road, Ashville, OH 43103 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a memorial service to be held at 3:00 pm with Pastor Laura Cavendish officiating.  For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.  Arrangements by Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville.  Online condolences to olivercheekfuneralhome.com.
