Ronald I. Kight, 81 of Ashville, OH passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. Ronald was born on August 15, 1943 to the late Clarence and Marcella (Hatfield) Kight in Coalton, OH. He was a 1961 graduate of Coalton High School. After high school, Ronald was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam. Following his military service, Ronald was a skilled electrician for 48 years. He retired from Roehrenbeck Electric where he worked for 16 years. Prior to that, he was employed for 32 years by F.A. Davis & Sons Electric. The last 23 years, Ronald has been the owner of Kight’s Automotive. He is also a member of the NRA.
Besides his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his bride of 53 years, Betty L. Kight; sons Richie Kight (2002) and Tony Kight May 28, 2025; sisters Irene, Maxine, Kay, Helen, Rita and Patty; brothers Wayne, Bob, Richie, Ralph, Allen and Emery.
Surviving is his daughter Lynn Kight-Secrest (Brian); grandchildren Stephanie (Mike) Jessee, Jake Rundio, Lindsey and Jared Kight; great-grandchildren Lilly and Grayson and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews; his beloved cat Miracle and his favorite niece, Donna Lynn who lovingly helped care for him.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 26 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025 with Pastor Don Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield.
