Ronald Preece, 72, of South Bloomfield, passed away Wed., Dec. 28, 2016, after a quiet struggle with brain cancer. He was born on July 21, 1944, in Oceana, WV, to the late Luther and Lydia (Perry) Preece. He graduated from Inez H.S. in 1962, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in South Korea ('62-'65). Ron had worked at Lennox Industries for 17 years, where he was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, Local 24, in Columbus, and served as union steward for several years. Later, he retired from Advance Auto Parts as a manager for 11 years. He also was a member of the United Baptist Church in Glen Daniel, WV. Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Parsley) Preece; son, Tim (Mary Jane) Preece of South Bloomfield; daughter, Angela (Brian) Preece-Christian of Maricopa, AZ; grandchildren, Victoria, Jack, and Fiona; great grandson Brody; sisters, Barbara (John) Allen of Orient, Dotty Cecil of Harrisburg, PA, and Lynda Fields of Augusta, GA; brothers, William (Grace) Preece of Jane Lew, WV, and James Preece of London; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded by a sister Virginia Davis. In keeping with Ron’s wishes cremation will take place. The family will receive friends and to share memories on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103.  Friends are encouraged to bring their favorite picture or memory of Ron to share; we are gathering to celebrate a life well lived. A short service with Chaplain Jim Ferrell will follow at 7:00 p.m.   In lieu of flowers contributions should be made to Berger Hospice 1120 North Court St. Suite B, Circleville 43113.
