Ruby R. (Rutherford) Jayne

Jayne, Ruby E. Rutherford of Knoxville, formerly of Jonesville, VA passed away November 30, 2016 at Brown Memorial Home in Circleville, OH.  Ruby was Director of Student Affairs of The University of Tennessee Medical Center Graduate School of Medicine before her retirement in 1995.  She was first employed by the University of Tennessee in 1949 and transferred to The Medical Center in 1962.  She was past President of Altrusa, member of First Christian Church, past President of Second Milers Sunday School Class and group leader of Christian Women’s Fellowship.  She was preceded in death by parents, Bernard and Rosa Rutherford, Husband Stafford W. Jayne, Jr. one brother, Cecil Rutherford; one sister, Edith Parsons; and niece Angela Rutherford.  She is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Newman and Gloria Rutherford, Bernie and Beverly Rutherford,  Frankfort, OH; sister-in law Nora Rutherford, Dayton, OH; sister-in-law, Nancy Gray, Cincinnati, OH; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice and Leroy Mills, Hamilton, OH; Lafern and Charles Bailey, Ashville, OH; a special nephew, Rick Mills, several other nieces and nephews, and very special friends, Dr. Udit Chaudhuri and wife Sumita.
