With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mom, Shirley “Ann” Lipker, on May 6, 2026, at the age of 87.

Mom was born in Kingston, Ohio, in September 1938. She graduated from Kingston High School in 1956.

Mom had a celebrated career as a registered nurse. After graduating from Grant Hospital Nursing School in 1960, she began a long and dedicated career that touched many lives. Her passion was in-home care and taking care of babies. It was a patient who called her “Grannie Annie”, the name that many would come to know her by for the rest of her life. She took the most pride in being able to continue nursing until she was 80.

Mom brought joy and warmth to everyone she met. As a beloved mom and grandma, she created countless cherished memories through her passion for cooking, baking, gardening, and her most prized strawberry jam. All four of us kids inherited her love of cooking and baking!

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Lipker, father Clifford “Doc” Roll, mother Leona (Leasure) Ours, and stepfather Harley Ours. She was the youngest of 5 children, sister Norma Jean (Joe) Ours, brother John (Deanne) Roll, sister Marilyn Kay (Charles) French, and brother Pete Roll, all of whom also preceded her in death.

Mom’s children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She is survived by her children, son, Dan (Lynn) Hoover of Hilliard, and daughters Judi Reynolds of Lockbourne, Becky (Rob) Jackson of Canal Winchester, and Lorie (Jesse) Lauzon of Lancaster, grandchildren Jessica, Scott, Lauren, Julie, Luke, Megan(Buck), and Ryan, and great-grandchildren Goldie Grace, Jack Leonard, and Jace Everett.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law Joyce (Pete) Roll of Bucyrus, with whom she went through nursing school.

We would like to thank the incredible staff at Fairhope Hospice and The Springs at Wyandot Trail for all of their compassion, love, and attention while she was under their care.

In lieu of a service, we plan to privately honor her passing. Mom asked that anyone may make a donation in her honor to Fairfield County Humane Society, Fairhope Hospice of Fairfield County, or Progeny Family Training Center.
