Shirley Jean Pangborn 73 of Circleville, passed away Wed. April 29, 2015 at her residence. She was born on March 12, 1942 in Kingsport, TN to the late Elmer Wade Sr. and Lida Bell (Overbay) Sherfey. Her parents moved the family to the Columbus area around 1955. A graduate of South High School in Columbus , Class of 1961, Shirley had also worked at Lazarus Downtown for a number of years, had been a waitress, and most recently worked at the former Ponderosa in Circleville. Most importantly she was a homemaker raising four sons, all of them have served their country in the U. S. Armed Forces. Preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lee Pangborn in 1993, sisters, Betty Lou Martin and Wilma Irene Buhrts; brother Charles Norman Sherfey. Survived by sons, Ronald (Ret. AF) his wife Connie Pangborn of Jackson, GA., James Pangborn (Army National Guard) of Lockbourne, John (Air National Guard) his wife Briana Pangborn of Ashville, and Thomas (Ret. Army) his wife Amanda of New Concord, NC; grandchildren, Kari (Anthony) Wilson, William (Kim) Francis, Terry (Lisa) Francis, Savannah, Courtney, Kaitlyn, and Cassady; great grandchildren, Aiden, Brooke, Landon, Taylor, Greyson, Carson, Garrett, and Sydney; brother Wade (Nancy) Sherfey of Mt. Vernon, OH; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sat. May 2, 2015 at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, Canal Winchester. The family request in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Berger Hospice, 1280 North Court St. Circleville 43113.
