Teresa Gail Wardell

Teresa Gail Wardell, 82, of Ashville passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

Born in Kingston, Ohio on September 1, 1943, Teresa was the daughter of Warren and Pauline (Cobb) Cummins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas Wardell, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and close friends. Surviving are her children Christopher (Jeanne) Wardell, Whitney (Michelle) Wardell, Rebecca (Olivia) Oiler, grandchildren Abigail and Isaac Wardell, Mallory and Mason Wardell, Wyatt Oiler; sister Linda Hart and family (Eric, Shari, Silver and Wes, Mara) sister-in-law Nancy Rich, nephew Mike Siniff, and niece Joyce Nyswaner, first cousins Jeanne Bennett and family, and Jill Vance and family.

Teresa was a devout Christian and a longtime member of the Pickaway Church of Christ.

She was a member of the Good Thymes Herb & Garden Club. She graduated from Ashville Harrison High School in 1961. She had a great singing voice and starred in South Pacific in high school and was a cheerleader. She excelled at arts and crafts. Teresa loved animals and took in many stray cats.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Inn at Winchester Trail facility for their care of Teresa this last year.

Teresa was dearly loved by the family and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday October 23rd from 2-4 with a service to follow at the Pickaway Church of Christ located at 12900 Ashville Pike, Ashville Ohio. Pastor Dan Stansell will officiate. Arrangements and care of the family have been entrusted to Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville Ohio.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in remembrance of Teresa to the Pickaway Church of Christ or the Pickaway County Humane Society.
