Thomas Wayne Swetnam, 60 of Ashville, Ohio passed away Friday November 8, 2024 surrounded by his family at home. He was born on February 9, 1964 in Columbus to the late Joseph N. and Audrey M. (Mason) Swetnam. Wayne was a finish carpenter by trade. He enjoyed all types of woodworking, restoring cars, mechanical work, and helping others. In his younger years, Wayne was a talented bass guitar player and in more recent years was a loving caregiver to his father before he passed in 2022. Everyone in his extended family and many friends would call upon Wayne for help, which he was always happy to provide.
He is survived by his former wife, best friend, and companion Steveonne "Stevie" Gibbs; his children and step-children, Sam (Alicia) Swetnam, Audrey (Mike) Mustard, Mindy (Cody) Ratliff, Kelsey (Andrew) Wright, and Morgan (Terry) Smith; 15 grandchildren; brothers Joseph (Terri), Paul (Lynne), William, and Daniel (Jeannette) Swetnam; and numerous nieces and nephews. While we will miss you here on earth, we know we will see you again soon where there will be “no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things [will] have passed away.” Rev. 21:4.
The family will receive friends at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, Ohio on Friday, November 15th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 12 noon with Pastor David Sells officiating. Burial will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, 2367 Pickaway St. Ashville 43103.
