Vaughan Clifton Dresbach passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the age of 93. He was born May 2, 1933, at home on the Dunlap Farm, Kingston, Ohio. He was the son of Charles and Marcella (Vaughan) Dresbach and was raised with a deep appreciation for faith, family, and hard work. He graduated from Walnut High School in 1951.
In 1955, he married his high school sweetheart Joyce Winterhoff and they began farming in Green Castle (Fairfield County). Vaughan was to later farm in Walnut Township (Pickaway County) for more than 50 years. He was active over his 70+ year farming career with the Pickaway County Farmers Club, Pork Producers, Cattlemen’s Club, Farm Bureau, 4-H Club Advisor, Walnut Township Zoning Board and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Vaughan is survived by his wife of more than 70 years – Joyce (Winterhoff) Dresbach, sons Eric (Sereana), Norman (Patty), and daughter Janice (Kevin) Welsheimer. Grandchildren: Nathan (Katie) Dresbach, Tyler (Kristen) Dresbach, Tricia (Brett) Koenig, Megan, David and Kenton Dresbach, Philip and Kate Welsheimer. Great grandchildren: Liesel, Daniel and Piper Dresbach; Avery, Collins, and Logan Koenig; and Owen Vaughan Dresbach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter – Janet Kay, sisters and brother-in-laws Jeneve and Al Swain, Charlene and Ralph Woolever, sister-in-law Sharon (Mark) Dresbach; brother-in-laws and their spouses Dr. Ernest and Marjorie Winterhoff, Bob and Dottie Winterhoff, Norman and Joan Winterhoff, and niece Susie (Winterhoff) Heise and nephew-in-law Barry (Karen Winterhoff) Haas. He was also preceded in death by his life-long best friend Darrell Norris.
Services will be coordinated by and held at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home of Ashville. Visitation with the family is Friday, August 21st, 4-7 p.m. A brief service will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Reber Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Teays Valley Educational Foundation (benefitting the FFA), P.O.
