Wallace “Wally” Ray James, 82 of Ashville, OH passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, OH. Wally was born on April 2, 1941 to the late Chris and Lexie (Kidd) James in Glen Hayes, WV. He was a graduate of Ft. Gay High School and had owned and operated Sohio Station in South Bloomfield and later Pickaway Lawn and Garden. He was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Ashville and enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Lena “Tenny” Hosser and Elizabeth “Sister” Frazier; brother Albert James.
Wally is survived by wife of 63 years Frances A. (Moore) James; son R. Scott James; granddaughter Courtney James; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, January 27th with a Service at 4 p.m. with Pastor David Sells at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103. Interment will be at a later date at Forest Cemetery, Circleville. Online condolences at olivercheekfuneralhome.com
