Wanda Mae Goin, 82 of Columbus, OH passed away at home on Thursday, September 12, 2024. She was born on September 29, 1941 to the late Strother and Alice (Schouster) James in Ashland, KY. Wanda attended Marion-Franklin School and worked at Woolco and later worked at Meyer’s Jewelers as a finance manager until retirement. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Throughout her life, she worked very hard, raised 3 wonderful boys by herself, which was her greatest accomplishment. Soon came her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they became her heart and soul. She loved them more than words could ever say! There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family. She was an easy-going, wonderful person but could also be a spitfire if she needed to be! Firm but still loving! She never really knew a stranger and she was loved by everyone who met her but loved by her family most! She will be greatly missed. “Hey Mom…you keep an eye on all of us and we’ll keep you in our hearts forever”.
Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Larry R. Goin in 2012; son Timmy Hunt; brothers Everett James, Billy James and Jackie James; sister Linda King.
Wanda is survived by children Anthony L. Hunt (Lori), Marty F. Hunt (Julie), Lynn Roach (Paul) and Randy Goin (Dea); sister Marilyn Hardbarger (Kenny); grandchildren Anthony L. Hunt II (Amanda), Brian Sawyer (Karen), Matt Hunt (Rachael), Ashley Hunt, John Hunt (Alicia), Dylan Goin (Letitia), Desarae Roach, Missy Roach, Amanda (Tim) and Mary (David); great grandchildren Maddie and Brayden Sawyer, Nevaeh, Mason and Ava Hunt, David and Tegan; close special cousins and friends Marg and Benny, Pam and Maudie and Jojo; many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
