Zane Hastings Grabans

Zane Hastings Grabans 23 of Ashville passed away Friday May 13, 2016 at Mt. Carmel West Medical Center, Columbus.   He was born on May 17, 1992 in Columbus.  Zane served his country for 4 years in the Air Force as an E-4 Airman and was just hired at Childrens Hospital in Columbus as a Periopertive Technician.  He was a graduate of Teays Valley H.S. Class of 2010, where he was in the National Honor Society, ran cross country and track.  He had attended University of Cincinnati prior to entering the Air Force.  Zane was a member of 4-H for a number of years growing up, and he loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Boston Red Sox.

Zane was preceded in death by uncle Brett Hastings. He is survived by his mother and step-father  Holly A. and Rob Powell ; sister Mallory all of Ashville; grandparents Jim and Patsy Hastings of Ashville uncles Rom (Jodi) Hastings of Ashville and Matt (Wendy) Hastings of Commercial Point; aunt Jan Shannon of Orient; cousins, Chelsey, Derek, Cody, Leslie, Jacob, and Raelynn; father John (Audrey) Grabans of Lancaster; grandmother Gloria Levan of Darbyville; numerous other aunts uncles, and cousins; special friends, Joe Kenyon, Bill “Tilly” Anderson, Mac Coe, Coven Molinar, Shane Yoho, Barry Ranft, Caleb Sharp, and Kendall Clark.    Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Wed. May 18, 2016 at Scioto Chapel United Methodist Church, 6337 St. Rt. 316 Ashville, Ohio with Pastor Deb Nance and Pastor Todd Hautala officiating.  Burial will follow in Beckett Cemetery, Commercial Point.  The family will receive friends on Tues. from 3-8 p.m. at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home 420 W.
