Charles Cordle Obituary

Charles A. Cordle, age 96, of Ashville, OH passed peacefully on July 30, 2022 at Pickaway Manor, Circleville. Charles was born on June 24, 1926 to the late Alfred and Ann Lykins Cordle in Ashland, KY.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Cleora Myers Cordle; daughter, Carol Webster; granddaughter, Aubree Brady; son-in-law, Donald Webster; brothers, Homer, Arthur, Greenville and Lowell; sisters, Geneva, Earlene and Marie.

Charles is survived by a sister, Ruby Trosper; daughter, Charlene (Chuck) Malone and son, Charles A. (Rose) Cordle, Jr.; grandchildren Donnie (Joyce) Webster, Twila (Jim) Brady, Christina Jordan, Craig (Kristi) Malone, Charles (Cassie) Cordle and Ryan (Noel) Cordle; great grandchildren, Scotty (Abby) Brady, Kayla (Tommy) Phelps, Nathanial (Chelsie) Brady, Blaike Webster, Hannah and Christopher Jordan, Brooklyn and Benjamin Malone, Reagan and Charlie Cordle, Silas, Clementine and Magdalen Cordle; great great granddaughters, Amberlee and Magnolia Brady, Sarah Parker.

Charles attended South Bloomfield United Methodist Church. He was a long-standing volunteer at Ashville’s Small-Town Museum. He was honored by the Ashville Community Men’s Club as the Distinguished Citizen in 2009. Charles was a kind, soft-spoken man who loved to sing (especially at church) and share stories of his childhood in Kentucky. During the summer you’d see him walking to the museum or sitting out back in his swing, reading or dozing. God Blessed him with a long, healthy life. He will be missed but we have the promise of seeing him again one day.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 3rd from 4-7 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville 43103 where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday August 4th with Pastor Floyd Hubbell officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Circleville.

A special thanks to Pickaway Manor and Promedica Hospice for their compassion and care. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Promedica Hospice, 116 Morris Road, Circleville, OH 43113 or Ashville Area Heritage Society, 34 Long St. Ashville, OH 43103.  Online condolences can be left at olivercheekfuneralhome.com
