Charles Lee Stevers, age 93 passed away June 30th, 2020. He was born June 7th, 1927 in Mercerville, Ohio , Gallia Co. to the late F.L. (Bud) and Blanche (Williams) Stevers. He was a graduate of Mercerville H.S. and was a partner in Houck & Stevers Plumbing Co. for a number of years. Charles worked for Columbia Gas until his retirement in 1982. A World War II Navy veteran and was a participant in the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. to visit the W.W. II Memorial. He was an avid reader and along with his wife he was most passionate about traveling and nature. Charles loved being outdoors , gardening, hunting, camping, and most enjoyed touring America’s National Parks. He was a wonderful man and will be missed greatly.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Belle (Houck) of almost 75 years, married Oct. 17th , 1945; They have one son Richard (Marylin) Stevers; he leaves to cherish his memory 2 grandchildren, Amy Stevers (Toni) and Chad Stevers (Emily); 3 great grandchildren, Kylee and Carsen Stevers and Alexa Evarts; also a brother Phil (Gitte) Stevers; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Lester (Eloise) ; sister Lona Mae (Gene) Sager.
