Charles R. Teeters, Sr. “Charlie, Chuck, Chub”, 84 of South Bloomfield, OH passed away at Mount Carmel Grove City on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 21, 1938, in Chattaroy, WV to the late Patrick Howard and Emma Dean (Diamond) Teeters. After attending Chattaroy High School, where he played basketball and caused mischief, he followed his older siblings to Central Ohio, where he met the love of his life and they began popping out babies. For most of his career, he was a truck driver for local companies, such as Hi-State Beverage, but retired as a Property Custodian, from the Columbus Police Department Property Room. He was a member of the South Bloomfield UMC, enjoyed his times with the Silver Sneakers, was an avid swimmer and golfer with his many friends at Upper Lansdown. He was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan, O-H!
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Franklin Patrick Teeters; grandson Shawn Edwards; siblings Howard, Bob, Jack, Jenny, John, Margaret, William, Doris, and David.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol Ann (Bowman) Teeters; children Jannette (Ron) Fausnaugh, Pam (Eric) Smith, Charles “Ron” (Deborah) Teeters, Jr., Billy (Eunice Bowen) Teeters, Laura Teeters, and Joe Teeters; grandchildren Ronald (Shannon) Fausnaugh, Adam (Anne) Fausnaugh, Spencer Teeters, Morgan Teeters (Luke Carpenter), Megan (Kyle) Mason, Katie (Ricky) Shutts, Madison Dixon (Tyler Brumfield); great-grandchildren Carter, Reese, Grant, Emilia, Mason, Jordy, Jamey, Henry, baby girl Gertie-on her way soon; brothers Jim, Sam and Larry (Dixie) Teeters; many nieces and nephews (including great and great-great) and extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 3rd from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville and on Saturday, March 4th at South Bloomfield UMC, 5027 West 2nd Street, South Bloomfield, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Floyd Hubbell officiating. To honor Charlie’s love of the Buckeye’s, consider wearing OSU colors or gear. A private burial will take place at Harrison Township Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
