Frances Dalton Beck, 75, passed away on April 13, 2018 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norm Beck, her parents, Homer and Sydney Dalton of Pikeville, KY, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her sister, Margaret (Margee) Dalton, of Columbus, Ohio, her stepson, Steve Beck (wife Brenda) of Stockbridge, Mich. and their son, Nicholas, step-son, Randy Beck (wife Pam) and their children, Luba, Donnie, and Cameron of Green Bay, Wisconsin, one aunt, Sue Scott of Fishers, Ind., and many cousins. Fran was born in Pikeville, KY, attended Pikeville High School, and graduated from Pikeville College. Fran and her husband lived in Ashville, OH and Palmetto, FL, where she spent the last few years of her life. She worked for The Franklin County Welfare Department and the State of Ohio Welfare Dept. and retired at age 49. She had been an active member of the Village United Methodist Church in Ashville. Fran was a very creative and talented woman, doing many craft projects, teaching crafts, flower arranging, photography, sewing, writing, and she was an avid reader. She was active in the Palmetto Mobile Home Park Drama Club, writing and directing many of the annual winter plays. Per Fran’s wishes, there will be no services. Her favorite charity was Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 for which she put together as many as 75 Shoeboxes at Christmas.
