Gene N. Van Pelt

Gene N. Van Pelt, age 84 of Circleville, OH passed away on Saturday July 23, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.  Gene was born on June 6, 1938 in Washington Court House, OH to the late Charles and AnnaBelle (Nelson) Van Pelt.  Gene graduated from Walnut High School in 1956.  While in school he enjoyed playing basketball and football.  His life work was farming which he loved, as well as his favorite past time of fishing.  He was a member of Marcy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Besides parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Eldora Swoyer Van Pelt in 1991, granddaughter Kaley Householder and sister JoAnn Douglass.

Gene is survived by wife, Beverly (Swoyer) Nance Van Pelt; daughters, Taundra (Larry) Householder, Glenford, OH, Teresa (Gregory) Kirkendall, Albany, OH, Susan (Jim) Cooksey, Circleville and Wanda (Tom) Pontius, Ashville; stepchildren, C. Bob Nance, Ashville and Vicki (Kersi) Sethna of Ashville. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday. July 27th at the home of Tom and Wanda Pontius, 9223 Ashville Fairfield Rd. Ashville, OH 43103 where services will be held at 3 p.m. with Pastor Dan Chapman officiating.  Graveside committal will follow at Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:  Marcy Trinity Lutheran Church, 9980 Marcy Rd. Ashville, OH 43103.
