Irene Elaine (Leach) Roese

Irene Elaine Roese, 81 of Ashville, OH passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, OH.  She was born on May 6, 1942 to the late Carl Spencer and Aileen Edna (Barnes) Leach in Columbus, OH.  Irene grew up in Xenia, Ohio at  Ohio Soldiers’ and Sailors” Orphans Home. She worked at Lancaster Glass and Premix. She obtained an Assoc. Degree in Business from Columbus State at 52 yrs. old graduating with Honors. She led an active life, traveling to over 15 countries, always gardening and famous for her fabulous flowers and vegetables. She was an avid swimmer and was a member of Darbyville Garden Club.  

Irene is survived by her husband Michael Allen Roese; children Anna McMillan, David Carr, Betty (Steve) Phillips, Barbara Trowbridge, James (Cara) Isaacs II; stepdaughter Misty Roese; ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; sisters Anna May Morgan, and Carla Richardson; niece Sally Piper; best friend of over 60 years Juanita Spangler. 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 20th from   10 a.m.-12 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 12 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103 with Tom Murphy officiating.  Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irene’s memory to:  Haven House of Pickaway County, 1180 No. Court St. Suite G, Circleville, OH 43113.
