Joyce B. (Houck) Stevers

Joyce Belle (Houck) Stevers, age 92, formerly of Gallia County passed away at home on Monday, March 21, 2022 in Grove City, OH.  She was born May 7, 1929 in Springfield, OH to the late Thomas and Lillian (Martt) Houck.  She was a graduate of Mercerville High School and went on to graduate from Columbus School of Cosmetology and owned Joyce Belle’s Beauty Salon until she retired in 1979.  Joyce married her husband, Charles Lee Stevers on October 17, 1945.  Together, they enjoyed their farm and nature and being outside to garden, camp and hunt. They loved traveling and touring the west and America’s National Parks.  Joyce was also an avid photographer and reader and enjoyed swimming.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of almost 75 years, Charles Lee on June 30, 2020; her sister and husband Joan Elise (Ronnie) Wright; in-laws Lester and Eloise Stevers, Lona Mae and Gene Sager, Phil Stevers.

She leaves behind one son C. Richard (Marylin) Stevers; 2 grandchildren, Amy Rae (Toni) Stevers and Chad (Emily) Stevers; great grandchildren, Kylee and Carsen Stevers and Alexa Evarts; sister Jo Marie (William) Egan of FL; sister-in-law Gitte Stevers of TX; several nieces and nephews.
