Richard I. Bluck

Richard I. (Dick) Bluck of Frankfort, OH and formerly of Ashville, OH passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 after a long blessed life of 90 years. He was born on December 9, 1932 in Wilmington, OH to the late Walter Lemoine and Clothilde (Michel) Bluck. Richard farmed for over 75 years in Pickaway, Ross, and Fayette Counties. He started farming at an early age and was able to buy his first tractor at 16. Farming was not only the way he provided for his family but also a true passion. Just this past summer, he was still worried about the rain levels, the growing season, and the upcoming harvest. He was a straightforward man who focused on church, his crops, and his family. Richard was known for his unfailing integrity and his kind, gentlemanly demeanor with everyone he met. He served his country in the Air Force Reserves for 6 years. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, a member of Sons of the American Revolution, and a Farm Bureau member. He was a big fan of OSU basketball. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Janet L (Wolpert) in 2005, a daughter Dr. Regina Frank, sister Jeanette Bramley and brother Raymond.

Survived by his children Jim (Sally) Bluck, Rob Bluck, Jess (Janie) Bluck, Carol (Troy) Johnson; son-in-law Chuck Frank; grandchildren, Josh (Jillan) Bluck, Abe (Lyndsey) Bluck, Grace (Wayde) Looker, Dustin Bluck, Maria Bluck, Zach Frank, and Maggie (Lee) Campbell, Cody Johnson, Courtney Johnson; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Sat. Sept. 9, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103.  Interment will follow in Heavenly Hills Cemetery, Circleville.  Because of his love of all things agriculture, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Adena H.S.
