I heard about James from the moment he entered our school. He was a ball of energy and not afraid to meet anyone, adult or student! My first comment to him was O-H, he looked around, saw me and said I-O!! I too am an Ohioan and Buckeye!! He wore that Ohio State sweatshirt until he got his Saints sweatshirt with his name on the back. James was a cute, fun, funny, passionate, likable young man. He and I had many conversations and heart to hearts about life. He had a lot to express and had quite a lot of life stories and experiences to share, some funny and others painful. James was well liked here at Auburndale and was becoming a good athlete, adapting to his new classes, demonstrating back flips in several areas of campus, and becoming a better student. He loved to play football at lunch and was starting to try his hand at basketball. He loved candy and anything liquid! He always wanted something to drink, water, gatorade, capri sun it didn't matter, I couldn't figure out how he could drink so much liquid! He was also a master at persuasion. If he wanted something you would know and he wouldn't let up until he talked you into it. In my office it was mostly candy!! I am so grateful for his guardian Parents, Leaha and Jeff. They are wonderful and did so much for James. He knew they loved him. I will forever miss James. He was one of those special gems that I looked forward to seeing each day. James, God the Father knows and loves you and He is a good God. Hope to see you again one day.
with much love, Mrs. Dickey

My Sweet, Energetic, Amazing Little Boy,
Not a minute goes by that you aren't in my thoughts. I carry you in my heart and in my spirit. I miss everything about you. I miss our talks. Every day you learned something new and wanted to share it with me, you were so smart. Jay (Dad), Emalee, Jeffrey and Rockstar miss you a whole lot also. I want you to know that I love you so much. To the moon and back really doesn't apply any longer..now it's to Heaven and Back! You truly meant the world to me and my heart will never be the same. I love you James Daniel. Please watch out for us. We will NEVER forget you. Your memory will live on FOREVER!
