Chester R. McCain

Chester R. McCain, age 95 of Ashville, OH passed away on Wed. Nov. 15, 2017 at Pickaway Manor, Circleville.  Chester was born on Feb. 16, 1922 to the late James H. and Mary Elizabeth (Harris) McCain in Derby Twp. Pickaway County.  Chester was a retired truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Local 413 and The Zion United Methodist Church.  Chester was a past recipient of the Distinguished Citizen Award given by the Ashville Community Men’s Club. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Viola Mae (Ward) McCain; daughter Jane Barnhart; sisters Elizabeth Fout, Edith Neal and Freda Leasure; brothers James T. Daniel and Ben McCain. 

Chester is survived by daughters Betty June Ebert of Laurelville and Stella Lou Hayes of Tarlton; sisters Eva Hanley of Kissimmee, FL, Pauline Miller of Columbus and Gracille Kuhn of Circleville; brother Donald McCain of Circleville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and  step grandchildren; neices and nephews. 

A Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Ty Myers will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with visitation with family from 9:00 a.m. to time of service.  Interment will follow at Harrison Twp.
