Sophia V. (Spurlock) Reynolds

Sophia   V.  Reynolds, 74, of Leland, NC and formerly of  South Bloomfield, OH,  went to be with the Lord and join her beloved husband and son   on Friday Sept. 2, 2016 at Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC.   She was born on Nov. 26, 1941 in Huntington, WV to the late  Ivan and Florance (Blake)  Spurlock.  Sophia was a loving mother and beloved grandmother.  Preceded in death by her husband Carl C. Reynolds 56 years in 2012 and son Danny Ray in 1976; also a brother and sister.  For the past 5 years Sophia had been cared for by her daughter, Karen in North Carolina.

She is survived by her children,   C.  Dean (Beth)  Reynolds of  Ashville , Karen (Steve)  Shaw of  Leland, NC, and  Scott (Kelly)  Reynolds of Port Clinton; grandchildren,  Eddie  (Meredith) Reynolds,  Stacy (Bryon) Gainey, Josh (Jamie) Reynolds, Stephen (Brittney)  Shaw, Clara (Dana) Mikita, Jason (Cinea) Reynolds, and Jessie (Tyler) Lowe;  great grandchildren, Tiffany and Hunter Gainey, Daniel Lahnum, Colin Gainey, Estella Reynolds, Jayden and Josie Reynolds,  Aleindye Henry, Maxston Shaw, Oliver Lowe, and Alexander Mikita ; 2 sisters and 1 brother;  also numerous nieces and nephews.

 A Funeral Service  will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9th, 2016                                                      Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with Rev. Kenneth Fuller  officiating.  Interment will follow in  Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield.    The family will received friends from  2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday   at the funeral home.  The family request in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Central Ohio Diabetes Assoc. 1100  Dennison Ave. Columbus, OH 43201.
